Not medical advice
Palato — including the AI coach, calorie and macro targets, meal suggestions, restaurant picks, and analytics — provides general food and lifestyle information only. It is not medical advice, nutrition therapy, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for guidance from a physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in this app.
If you have a medical condition
If you manage a diagnosed condition (such as diabetes, kidney disease, or an eating disorder), are pregnant or nursing, or take medication affected by diet, consult your care team before acting on any suggestion from the app. The AI coach is designed to decline medical questions and to avoid unsafe targets, but it can make mistakes — your professional’s advice always wins.
Estimates are estimates
Nutrition numbers come from public and commercial databases, user entries, and AI estimation. Restaurant data — especially for independent restaurants — is often approximate and clearly labeled as estimated. Portion sizes, preparation methods, and menu changes mean real values can differ meaningfully from what the app shows.
Allergies: always verify yourself
The app screens suggestions against the allergies you declare and hard-excludes matches. This screening is best-effort software working with imperfect data — it can miss ingredients, cross-contamination, or unlisted preparation details. If you have a food allergy, always verify ingredients directly with the restaurant or product label before eating.
Disordered eating
This app is built for sustainable, non-extreme goals; it enforces minimum calorie floors and will not coach extreme restriction. If your relationship with food or your body feels distressing, please reach out to a professional. In the United States you can contact the National Alliance for Eating Disorders (1-866-662-1235) or text “NEDA” to 741741 for crisis support; elsewhere, your local health service can direct you to help.
Emergencies
Never use this app for emergencies. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
